dc.description.abstractThis study sought to examine the impact of leadership styles on organizational performance particularly Isingiro district local government. The objectives of the study were to establish identify the impact of democratic leadership style on the performance, autocratic leadership style on the performance and the effect of laissez faire leadership style on the performance of Isingiro district Local government. The study adopted a cross-sectional survey research design. Data were collected from 36 respondents using a self-administered questionnaire and an interview guide. Data were analysed using descriptive and inferential statistics for quantitative data, and content analysis for qualitative data. The found and concluded that there positively significant relationship between democratic leadership style on organizational performance. The results also concluded that there is a significant positive correlation between autocratic leadership style and Organizational performance. There is a positive significant relationship between laissez faire leadership style and Organizational performance. Therefore, the study recommended that leaders should implement regular team meetings, one-on-one sessions, and anonymous suggestion boxes or digital platforms to encourage employees to share their thoughts without fear of reprisal. The study also recommended that leaders should be creative, innovative, and employee engagement, an autocratic style is detrimental. It can stifle creativity, lower morale, and increase employee turnover. Therefore, leadership training programs should focus on equipping managers with the skills to diagnose different situations and adapt their leadership style accordingly. The leaders must ensure that every team member understands their role, the project goals, and the expected outcomes.
