It is the right of every citizen to participate in the governance of their countries, through many ways, including the right to vote as exercised through free and fair elections. Elections in Uganda have had a history of irregularities. This is so, notwithstanding the existence of a legal framework that enables a free and fair electoral process. This article seeks to analyse the electoral process from a legal perspective examining the extent to which Uganda conducted its recently concluded elections in accordance with the law. The article further examines the challenges and lessons learned from the elections and makes recommendations on ways of enhancing the electoral process in Uganda.en_US
