Extension Modality is the general statement of the intellectual, managerial and political framework within which the extension service is carried out(Donkoh et al.1999) The mwy modalities can be grouped into three broad aregories of strategies, depending on the degree of participation by the beneficiaries. They include: transfer of technology or the transfer of advice, information, knowledge and skills to farmers; advisory services, which comprise of a cadre of experts who farmers use as source of advice in relation to specific problems they have identified; and the participatory approach, where farmers identify their own problems and develop their own solutions (Nalukwago 2004).
